Social stories are illustrative narratives that help prepare your child for their dental experience. Developed in part to help children with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disorders, these resources can help any child to familiarize themselves with the dental experience, put them at ease and allow them to know what to expect. They also help caregivers learn the language used by their dental professionals so they can use consistent language at home and at the dental office- making for a cohesive and well-understood experience.
